Ellek – I’m Endangered (E3D) T-shirt

These shirts are made from recycled plastic bottles! No we’re not kidding!

In our efforts to recycle, reuse and repurpose, we have created some very cool t-shirts made from fabric derived by recycling PET bottles. These PET bottles would have otherwise ended up in landfills or oceans, hurting our wildlife. About 5 soda bottles are said to be sufficient to yield enough fibre for an XL t-shirt. Recycled PET is also a good alternative instead of new chemically produced materials like polyesters.

These beautiful designs were created by Malaysian graphic artist and future veterinary doctor, ARVIND J. We would like to thank him for sharing his creative talents.

Ellek has always graced our tshirts, so we certainly had to upgrade him to 3D! The larger image is based on the same photo on our Classic Ellek shirts and the smaller image is of Ellek enjoying one of his favourite fruits, rambutan. Fun fact: wild gibbons are the seed dispersers of wild rambutan trees!
