Vendor Biography

Justice for Wildlife Malaysia is a wildlife conservation non-governmental organisation registered under the Registry of Societies of Malaysia (PPM-038-14-10072023). Aimed to protect and conserve wildlife in Malaysia through legal means, Justice for Wildlife Malaysia (also known as JWM) promotes legal literacy among wildlife conservation fraternities.

JWM look into current legislation to identify gaps, while constantly engaging with the prosecutors of wildlife-related cases to further enhance the investigation methods and improve prosecutorial paperwork. Combining conservation science and the law together for policymaking-related work, JWM also conducts immersive awareness campaigns on the other end of the pipeline with the judiciary for a better-targeted approach in sensitising judges of wildlife crime and its detrimental effects.

This initiative is a spin-off of Justice for Silent Victims (J4SV) program by Panthera and co-organized by Rimba. Since the inception of J4SV in 2016, this initiative has grown bigger and eventually presented a new opportunity to become a full-fledged independent project. The team is led by Dr Nor Arlina Amirah Ahmad Ghani (Ann) and we work closely with Rimba, Panthera Malaysia and NBS as our main conservation partners.
